German Gustav Becker Grandmother Clock

Made in Germany circa 1880, by one of the best-known German clockmaker Gustav Becker from the mid to late 19th century.

Height: 63 in. (160cm)

This is a heavy yellow pine casework, and it’s customized for a staircase of second level in a house, and the house has been torn down. A unique piece merging with porcelain depicting rococo style figures.

Solid square  brass movement with time and strike, 8-day spring-driven, the pendulum bob was also decorated with porcelain.


Manufacturer Background

Gustav Becker opened his workshop in Freiburg, Silesia, Germany in 1850, and won the “Medaille d’Or" for design at the 1852 Silesia Trade Exposition. Gustav Becker clocks were famous for its quality, they produced more than 400 varieties of clocks with fabulous well-done casework.
