Made circa 1700, attributed to the enameller Jean André I Huaud, 75×55mm, 18K red gold oval-shaped base with painted on enamel plaque. The polychrome enamel scene depicts the death of Cleopatra, according to popular belief, Cleopatra committed suicide by allowing an asp (Egyptian cobra) to bite her.
