In 1967 this 5011K caliber was named the most accurate chronometer ever tested by the Neuchatel Observatory. The calibre has been in continuous production since then and has been used in competition timepieces, marine chronometers, pocket watches, and watchmaking school watches.
Brand History:
Zenith was founded in 1865 by the visionary watchmaker Georges Favre-Jacot, has gained recognition for the precision of its chronometers, with which it has won 2,333 chronometry prizes in just over a century and a half of existence: an absolute record. Its EL Primero was the first automatic chronograph movement that beats 36000 vibrations per hour, capable of measuring short times to the nearest 1/10th of a second.
