19th Century Rococo Style Miniature Table Clock
Inventory Number: C2112006
Made circa 1890, 126 x 93.8 x 56.8 mm, signed Vacheron Constantin. Silver case with white onyx case in the shape of a “Louis XV”, and Rococo style. The facade of the cabinet is decorated with knots and foliage set with colored rhinestones, on a Royal blue enamel background; on the lower part, an oval medallion painted in polychrome on enamel, in a gilded silver frame, representing a couple of lovers. On the base, a silver metal plate with the words “QUE CES HEURES VOUS SOIENT TOUTES HEUREUSES” (May these hours be happy ones for you all).
White enamel dial with radial Roman numerals, blued-steel “Breguet” hands, subsidiary seconds at 6. Movement 14’’’, gilded brass, going barrel, lateral lever escapement, monometallic balance (gilded metal) and blued steel flat hairspring, polished steel index-regulator.
