Twenty Dollar Coin-Watches (Circa 1970-1980)

Produced circa 1970-1980 , 34mm,18K gold case. Manual-winding movement. 


Functions: hours and minutes.


Regular production of the coin with Liberty Head and Double Eagles on each side is between 1849-1933. 


These three coin-watches were made by EBEL, Universal Genève for Tiffany & Co., Piaget and signed on each dial. The coin watch made by Piaget accessorized with 18K gold pendant with ten-dollar U.S. coin. 


After pressing the hidden button, the hinged top on the obverse side will then reveal a beautifully finished swing-out watch with winding crown at 1 o'clock. 


EBEL is a Swiss luxury watch company, founded in 1911 in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Neuchâtel, Switzerland by Eugene Blum and Alice Levy. 


Universal Genève is a Swiss luxury watch company, founded in 1894 as Universal Watch. Since its beginnings, the company has produced complete watches with in-house movements, and throughout the 20th century, distributed many notable and important timepieces.


Piaget is a Swiss luxury watchmaker and Jeweller. Established in 1874 by Georges Piaget in the village of La Côte-aux-Fées, it was founded as a manufacturer of watch movements but began marketing its own line of watches in the 20th century.  Now Piaget is currently a subsidiary of the Swiss Richemont group.
